Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using RemoveVocals (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. NOTHING SAS ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") operates RemoveVocals as a free service with optional paid plans and a Founding Supporter program (section 14). Your continued use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of these terms and any modifications we may make.

2. Description of Service

RemoveVocals provides a free browser-based audio toolkit that includes vocal removal, mastering, equalization, noise reduction, audio cutting, audio joining, pitch changing, BPM finding, key finding, bass boosting, audio effects, audio format conversion, and voice recording capabilities.

Important: where your audio is processed. Audio Cutter, Joiner, Pitch Changer, Equalizer, Bass Booster, Audio Effects, Converter, Noise Reducer, BPM Finder, Key Finder, Mastering and Voice Recorder process audio entirely in your browser. Vocal Remover and Stem Splitter transmit the audio to our processing servers (Modal, United States) for the duration of the separation, and Lyrics Finder transmits a downsampled copy to our speech-to-text provider (Groq, United States) for the duration of the transcription; the file is deleted after processing unless you save it as a project on a paid plan. No audio is used for model training. See the Privacy Policy.

3. User Obligations

By using RemoveVocals, you agree that:

• You will only process audio files that you own, have permission to use, or are otherwise permitted to process under applicable law.
• You will not use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or unethical purposes.
• You will not process audio containing illegal content, hate speech, harassment, or malware.
• You will not attempt to circumvent Digital Rights Management (DRM) protections or other technological protection measures.
• You will not use the Service to create unauthorized commercial products or redistribute copyrighted material without proper authorization.
• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to process any audio through this Service.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

RemoveVocals, including its name, logo, design, code, and all underlying technology, is owned and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

You may not reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, or perform any content from RemoveVocals without our express written permission, except as necessary to operate the Service on your device.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain all rights to audio files you process through RemoveVocals. You are solely responsible for any content you process and for ensuring you have all necessary rights and permissions to do so. We do not claim ownership of your audio or any output you create using our Service.

Since we do not keep your audio files beyond the processing job and never review their content, we have no liability regarding their legality, accuracy, or ownership. You are entirely responsible for the audio you choose to process.

6. Copyright & Music Rights, Critical Disclaimer

RemoveVocals is a tool, not a content platform. We do not host, store, distribute, or transmit any audio files or copyrighted content.

You are solely and entirely responsible for ensuring that any audio you process through RemoveVocals is content you own, have a license to use, or are otherwise legally permitted to process. This includes:

• Ensuring you own the original audio or have permission from the copyright holder
• Verifying you have rights to create derivative works (like instrumental or acapella versions)
• Confirming any intended use (personal, educational, commercial, etc.) is permitted under the original copyright
• Understanding that fair use rights vary by jurisdiction and context
• Obtaining appropriate licenses if the audio is subject to copyright protections or DRM

RemoveVocals provides technology for audio manipulation. Like photo editors, video editors, or audio workstations, we are neutral tools. The responsibility for legal use lies entirely with you, the user. We cannot and do not monitor, filter, or judge the audio you process because we do not review the audio you process and keep no copy of it beyond the processing job.

7. No Warranty

RemoveVocals is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We make no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service's functionality, reliability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Audio processing results will meet your expectations
• The Service will be compatible with all devices, browsers, or audio formats
• All features will be available at all times

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NOTHING SAS and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of or inability to use RemoveVocals.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Loss of audio files or data corruption
• Damages from copyright infringement by users
• Misuse of the Service or processed audio
• Browser compatibility issues
• Third-party service interruptions (including browser crashes or device failures)
• Any harm from your use of RemoveVocals

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using it.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use RemoveVocals for:

• Processing audio containing illegal content
• Circumventing copyright protections, DRM, or other security measures
• Creating unauthorized derivative works for commercial distribution
• Infringing on intellectual property rights of others
• Processing malicious content or attempting system attacks
• Violating any applicable laws or regulations
• Harassing, abusing, or defaming others
• Any purpose that violates these Terms of Service

10. Account & Optional Authentication

RemoveVocals can be used entirely without creating an account. If you choose to create an account through Supabase authentication, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the confidentiality of your credentials.

We reserve the right to terminate your account if we determine that you have violated these Terms of Service or used the Service for prohibited purposes. Account termination may result in loss of any saved preferences or settings associated with that account.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of RemoveVocals following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically for changes.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Paris, France, and you agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Founding Supporter Program

The Founding Supporter program presented on removevocals.ai/founders is sold by NOTHING SAS, 58 rue de Monceau, 75008 Paris, France (SIREN 892 798 208). This section applies to every Founding Supporter contribution, in addition to the rest of these Terms of Service. Where the two differ, this section prevails for the program.

14.1 What you buy

A Founding Supporter place is a one-time contribution, paid in euros at the price shown at checkout. The price depends on the tier open at the time of payment; the first tier is 99 EUR. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payment is collected by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. The program is limited to 500 places, numbered in order of payment, and closes for good when the 500th place is taken.

14.2 The ten benefits, and when you receive them

• Founders Wall (01). Your display name and member number appear on the public Founders Wall as soon as your payment is confirmed, for as long as the Service exists. You choose the name shown, or can appear as an anonymous supporter, from your profile.
• Founder badge (02). A "Founding Supporter #NNN" badge on your profile and across the site while you are signed in.
• Footer credit (03). A "Built thanks to" mention with your display name, rotating with the other Founders in the footer of the site.
• Cloud Pro included (04). The Cloud Pro plan on your account, never billed, for the duration described in 14.3. It replaces a paid Cloud Pro subscription and does not include plans above it, such as Studio, which stay separate.
• Beta access (05). Access to each new tool at least 30 days before its public launch.
• Founders newsletter and roadmap vote (06). A newsletter reserved for Founders, sent four times a year, with a vote on what we build next.
• Sticker pack (07). One physical pack of stickers carrying your Founder number, shipped with tracking to the postal address you enter on your profile, within 15 days of your contribution (or of the day you enter your shipping address, if later). Shipping is included.
• Founders Sample Pack (08). A downloadable pack of stems and one-shots, original or licensed for the program and not sold publicly, delivered once per year of the program. You may use it in your own productions, including commercial ones; you may not resell or redistribute the pack itself.
• Vote on tool names (09). A vote, through the Founders newsletter, on the names of upcoming tools.
• Founder of the Year (10). Once a year, one Founder is featured on the blog, with their prior written consent, and receives a voucher worth 50 EUR. The form of the voucher and its conditions are announced with each edition.

Founding Supporters also use the Service without sponsored ads while signed in.

14.3 What "for life" and "permanent" mean

"For life", "lifetime" and "permanent" refer to the lifetime of the RemoveVocals service operated by NOTHING SAS or by a successor who takes over the program, not to your own lifetime. The benefits last as long as the Service exists. If the Service closes, the benefits end with it; nothing further is due from you, and no refund of the contribution is owed for a closure that happens after the period in 14.4. The benefits are attached to your account and cannot be transferred or sold.

14.4 Refunds

You can cancel your contribution and receive a full refund within 14 days of payment, as long as your sticker pack has not yet been shipped. Once the pack has been shipped, the contribution is final. To ask for a refund, write to support@removevocals.ai from the email address of your account. The refund goes back to the payment method you used; your Founder number, wall entry and Cloud Pro access are then removed. If you are a consumer in the European Union, nothing in this section limits the statutory rights you may have; write to the same address to exercise them.

14.5 Your postal address

We ask for a postal address for one purpose: shipping the sticker pack. You enter it on your profile; it is visible to you and to the people who prepare the shipment, and it is passed to the printing and shipping partner for that shipment only. You can change it from your profile until the pack has been shipped. See section 4.6 of the Privacy Policy.

14.6 Closing a Founder account

Founding Supporter accounts cannot be deleted from the profile page, because deletion would remove the benefits above. To close one, write to support@removevocals.ai. We then remove your name from the Founders Wall and the footer, delete your postal address and other personal data, and keep only the member number and the payment record that the law requires us to retain. A number released this way is not reassigned.
